Location: The pinjore Gardens in Chandigarh is also known as the Yadavindra Gardens. This beautiful garden is located about 20 km away from Chandigarh and about 15 km away from Punchkula on the Chandigarh-Shimla Highway. This garden has been decorated with exotic flowers and trees and is considered to be one of the ideal places for the excursion and picnic.

Created: This serene heavenly place was designed by the foster brother of the emperor Aurangzeb, Nawab Fadai Khan, who was also a great architect. This garden was conceptualized based on the design where a waterway is flowing in between and along side of it are the flowers and trees giving relief to the eyes and mind of the people . There are various construction which were done under the supervision of Nawan Fadai Khan. There are- Sheesh Mahal(the palace of glass), the Rang Mahal (the painted palace) and the Jal Mahal(the palace of water).
About the place: There is a channel in the middle of the garden and beautiful walkways along the channel. The sides of this water way are decorated with stretches of flowering plants, grass. There are many trees and visitors could take rest in the shades of these trees. The entire garden is stretched over an area of 100 acres. There are historic palaces for the lovers of the history, a mini zoo for the children, picnic spot , a Japanese Garden and beautiful fountains which have splendid lighting and can be enjoyed after the sun set. There is a huge area in the garden from where the visitors could get entire view of the garden very well. During the month of April, the spring festival is arranged here and during the months of June and July, Mango Festival is arranged here.
How to reach:
By Road: There is regular bus and taxi service from the adjoining areas of Chandigarh to this place. The beautiful landscape can be enjoyed while using the national highways no.21 and no. 22 to visit this beautiful garden.
By Train: Chandigarh is well connected to many important cities especially the capital of India by two important trains:Shatabdi Express and the Himalayan Queen.
By Air: The domestic airport is about 12 km from the city center and is well connected to the cities of north India. Delhi connects Chandigarh with the international flights.
