Location: The Capitol Complex in Chandigarh is located in the Sector 1 of the Chandigarh City and it has three sets of Government buildings. This complex has got three spectacular building, the Secretariat, the Legislative Assembly and the High Court.

Created: This concrete building complex at the foothills of Shivalik Hills was created by Le Corbusier, the creator of the first planned city of India. The High Court was constructed in this complex between the years 1951-1957. Between the time periods 1953-1959, the Secretariat was built. This building is one of its kinds and attracts hoards of visitor everyday.
About the place: The High Court Building looks like an inverted umbrella with its double-roof structure. The frontage of this building is covered with a structure which exactly looks like an egg-crate. The visitors could experience the marvelous wall hangings created by respectable Le Corbusier on the walls of the courtrooms. Out of all the three marvels created of concrete in the Capitol Complex in Chandigarh, the Secretariat is the tallest one. It seems like eight concrete slabs are kept on each other. The third structure which attracts the tourists with its artistic work and creativity of the builder is the Legislative Assembly. This complex not only has three marvelous concrete structure which signifies the democracy in our country but this complex has in the center a giant metallic monument- the Open Hand.
How to reach:
By Road: One can enjoy the beautiful road journey to Chandigarh using the national highways. One of them is No.21 joining Kinnaur and Ambala and the other one is No.22 joining Leh and Chandigarh. Various bus facilities are there like the ordinary, deluxe or semi-deluxe buses which join Chandigarh to the other cities around.
By Train: Chandigarh is connected to many important cities. Shatabdi Express and Himalayan Queen are two daily trains which connect Chandigarh with Delhi, the India Capital.
By Air: The airport which is located about 12 kms from the center of the city connects Chandigarh with important places like Delhi, Amritsar and Leh.
